Counseling Office
Welcome to the Holly Middle School Counseling Department
The goal of the Holly Middle School counseling team is to promote academic success by working cooperatively with students, parents, teachers, staff, and the community. We embrace the diversity of our students and advocate for equity, growth, and success for all students.
Counseling Center Staff
The HMS Counseling Department is comprised of 2 full-time counselors. Mr. Mark Mattingly works with students whose last name begins with A – L and Mrs. Kristin Godoshian works with students whose last names begins with M – Z. If you have any questions or concerns, parents are always welcome to contact us over the phone, email or schedule an appointment. Parents are welcome to drop-in but appointments are strongly recommended so we can put 100% of our focus toward your concerns.
Students are welcome to visit their counselors before school, during passing time, and lunch hours. If the counselor is not available, students can complete a “Counselor Request” form, available in Schoology, and the counselor will call the student to the office during the school day.
Post-Graduation Planning Resources
On August 3, 2023, the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) issued a memorandum regarding the requirements of MCL 380.1293. All public school districts shall make post-graduation planning resources available to each student in grades 8 through 12.
The information included in bold on the linked page is intended to fulfill the requirements of the law. These updates are provided through a partnership between the Michigan Department of Education, Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity and other statewide stakeholders.
